Baclofen Side Effects

Some of the most common side effects of baclofen include drowsiness, dizziness, and nausea. In most cases, side effects are mild and either don't require treatment or are easily treated. There are, however, a number of potentially serious side effects that should be reported immediately to a healthcare provider, such as chest pain, seizures, or hallucinations.

An Introduction to Baclofen Side Effects

Just like any medicine, baclofen (Lioresal®, Gablofen®) can cause side effects. However, not everyone who takes the medication will have problems. In fact, some people tolerate it quite well. If side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or are easily treated by you or your healthcare provider.

Serious Side Effects of Baclofen

Some baclofen side effects should be reported immediately to your healthcare provider.
 These include but are not limited to:
 
  • Signs of an allergic reaction, such as:
 
    • An unexplained rash
    • Hives
    • Itching
    • Unexplained swelling, especially of the mouth, lips, or throat
    • Wheezing or difficulty breathing
    • Difficulty swallowing
