Dantrium Drug Interactions

Your healthcare provider needs to be aware of your alcohol consumption and whether you are taking any other medications or supplements before you can safely use Dantrium. Some of the drugs that can cause negative interactions with Dantrium include calcium channel blockers, estrogen, and medications that cause drowsiness. Such combinations may increase your risk for serious problems, such as a slow heartbeat, severe drowsiness, and problems thinking.

An Overview of Interactions With Dantrium

Dantrium® (dantrolene sodium) may react with a number of other medications. Some of the drugs that can lead to interactions with Dantrium include but are not limited to:
 
 
 
  • CYP 3A4 inducer medications, such as:
 
 
  • CYP 3A4 inhibitor medications, such as:
 
 
  • Estrogen
  • Medications that cause drowsiness, such as:
 
 
  • Metyrosine (Demser®)
  • Vecuronium (Norcuron®).
