Who Should Not Take Tizanidine?

You should not take this medicine if you:
 
  • Are allergic to Zanaflex, tizanidine, or any of the inactive components used to make the medication. Your healthcare provider or pharmacist has a list of the inactive ingredients.
     
  • Are taking ciprofloxacin (Cipro®) or fluvoxamine (Luvox®), since a serious drug interaction may occur.
     

Final Thoughts

There are a number of situations in which this drug should not be taken, along with several safety concerns people should be aware of before beginning treatment.
